Paul, Joan and Dan would like to congratulate all those students from Telegraph Hill who have received their A Level grades today. Some, may not have got the grades they wanted, but the hard work that everyone put into their studies is to be applauded, no matter the grades.

However, Lewisham results surge ahead of the national average for a seventh year in a row. Young people in Lewisham are celebrating outstanding results for A Levels after being above the national average for a record seventh year.

The borough’s schools and colleges have achieved an overall pass rate of 98.4%, compared to the national average of 97.6%.  The number of Lewisham students achieving A and B grades has risen again this year. Increasing numbers of students from Lewisham will be moving to Higher Education, with places at top universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, Bristol and Warwick.

Well done to the students and teachers for these results.
