We have asked for dumped rubbish to be collected at Sulby & Spalding Houses which we discovered while out and about...

We've pledged to make Telegraph Hill the greenest ward in Lewisham. Here's some information on Lewisham Council's projects and campaigns, which you are more than welcome to get involved in; if any are particularly of interest let us know and we can provide further information:

Community Gardens including Frendsbury Gardens sessions.

Graffiti Busters - residents can be trained in how to remove graffiti and we provide them with environmentally friendly graffiti remover

Clean Up events
- Big Tidy Up, Capital Clean Up - we can provide equipment, risk assessments and help for people wanting to clean up local areas

Dog Agility
- to encourage responsible dog ownership in parks, agility days can be held (this also breaks down barriers about different types of dogs)

People With Dogs - this project is run with schools and youth groups to teach them about responsible dog ownership. It is an 8 minute DVD with a 40 minute workshop and has worked best when kids have been running the sessions between themselves (the Council did this at Deptford Green).

Brockley Harvest - Brockley Harvest is a project of Transition Brockley. Have you got a fruit tree? Donae part your tree's harvest for distribution to the local community. Or volunteer to be an urban harvester. If you are interested email: brockleyharvest@yahoo.co.uk

Local Environmental Quality Campaigns
- the Council undertake a number of campaigns each year about issues such as Food on the Go, Chewing Gum, Smoking Litter and Dog Fouling.

Clean & Green Schools
- annual programme working with schools around environmental initiatives including litter, waste, sustainable transport, climate change and this year sustainable food. Annual awards ceremony to reward achievement took place on 14th July and included Edmund Waller School.   We're always looking for more people to get involved so please feel free to get in touch. If you have any ideas that you would like us to work on then let us know and we can see what we can do.
