Kitto Road or Electric Avenue?
|
Back in 2011 we made the case to the Council Parking Services Manager for electric car charging points to be installed, initially outside St Catherine's, and by the Broca Food Market. A report to Mayor and Cabinet seeking approval for installing the charging points in on-street locations was approved in September 2011. It has been a long time arranging the installation largely because of the necessary permits and licenses for carrying out work on the footpath.
Recently the chargingpoint on Kitto Road has been installed. Officers have told us that if we can demonstrate that it is being used and there is demand, we can hopefully get funding for more, which will in turn mean more people having confidence in the charging infrastructure. It’s all part of your Labour Councillors greening the ward. |
Cllrs Whittle, Bell and Millbank "rocking down to" Kitto Road!

Play in the ParkThe future for under fives play in Telegraph Hill Park looks brighter following a recent decision by Lewisham Council. Responding to an energetic campaign by local parents and carers and strong lobbying from your Labour Cllrs. Bell, Millbank and Whittle, Mayor Sir Steve Bullock and Lewisham Labour Councillors voted unanimously to defer closure of all seven Park Play Clubs. Council officers will now be working with the local groups over the next year to set up community-led facilities.
Your local ward councillors - Cllrs. Bell, Millbank and Whittle - will continue to work with the Telegraph Hill Save our Play Club group to secure high quality under-fives play activities in Telegraph Hill park. |
Housing is a PriorityFollowing intervention by your ward councillors and with support from the Honor Oak Tenants Association, the disused community flat in 1-3 Forman House, Frendsbury Road will now be converted back to housing. It is likely to be made into two flats but no final decision has yet been made by Lewisham housing officers.
Community meeting space is available at the Honor Oak Community Centre in Turnham Road. |

Honor Oak CommUNITY Day
Cllr Paul Bell, Cllr Joan Millbank and Dame Joan Ruddock MP attended the Honor CommUNITY Day on Saturday, 11 February, 2012. It was a great community event to recognise the work that so many do on the Honor Oak Estate for the people who live there. It was also a chance to celebrate community activism and making a positive change. You can see more photos from the day by clicking HERE.
